Exploring ideas of ownership, idealization, and fetishization of Asian beauty in contemporary Eurocentric culture. Conceived as a response to David Belasco's original short story, Madame Butterfly. Lulu as a parallel of Cho-Cho San, brought to the West by her lover, and the ensuing consequence of attempting to live up to Western expectations of 'Oriental Femininity.'
